Drive a little further and you can visit France's most beautiful fortified city: Carcassonne. Imagine yourself in ancient times at impressive Montségur Castle and Puivert Castle. Immerse yourself in the history of the Cathars.

Or descend into extraordinary caves such as the cave of Niaux, sail through the cave of Labouiche or drive by car through the cave of Mas-d'Azil.

In Ariège, you will find unspoilt nature that offers many opportunities for sporting excursions. There are many walks and cycling routes in the immediate surroundings and the Pyrenees.
